Cacao, cocoa, kakawa…
How did it happen?
Humans and wild animals ate your delicious pulp and discarded your seeds, you, fruit of the wild forest.
How did it happen?
Did humans sit around the fire cooking meats and roots?
Did humans suck on your pulp and throw your seeds into the fire?
Did humans smell your aroma coming out of the fire?
Is this how we discovered your potential?
I wonder, I wonder so often how did we discover that roasting your seeds would produce such an amazing, fine aroma?
My imagination floats around with those thoughts when I eat your beautiful unfolding seeds, when I work with you all day long, your fluid brown warm color fills my days with passion and pleasure, pleasure to work with you and pleasure to give you away to an appreciative public.
You are a noble fruit but your history has been long and painful. You are growing into a better world now, you are becoming deserving of ethical care from us, all of us who work with you, all of us who love you are working hard to harmonize your lusciousness with a clean conscience.
Cheers to your amazing power my dear sweet Cacao friend.
